Two posts in one day! Madness! But after finishing the patch and finally logging in, I just had to post my very early, completely worthless and rather arbitrary views. Regardless.

So yesterday I installed Warhammer, and started the whole patching thing. Such an unpleasant but necessary evil, patching. Sigh. So while WAR launched the patcher I thought to myself that I may as well blog the daily bidnis of being a WAR reroller. Thus, henceforth, Skurmish – The Blog!(TM) will be about more than just WoW, but equally about WAR. I’ll be penning my thoughts on Mythics offering and how it compares to WoW, and while I’ll be trying my best to mainttain an objective view, having played a shammy for the past few years which, coincidentally, happened to see the class at it’s lowest point, might skew opinion slightly. So I can’t guarantee an entirely fair and unbiased opinion. Nonetheless, onward brave soldiers!
After the break, my experience installing, registering and patching(thus far) Warhammer…
It struck me yesterday that WoW has been around a long time. Almost 5 years. That’s pretty long to be playing one game. I thought to myself that the expansion is due soon and will introduce new content, new class spells and talents, new gear, a new class, and so on.
But is it enough?
“Spirit Link was creating too many technical issues, such as:
– Tech wise it was causing many bugs, for example there is no way for us to let you refresh it on the current target who has spirit link (which is what spurred the duration/cooldown)
– Allowing linked targets to break out of CC when you shared damage was too powerful, and the gimmicks we put on it were confusing and bad design
– Allowing you to put it on a tank was too powerful, so we had to address that too. Which was a downer.
In an upcoming build we’re replacing Spirit Link with a new talent. It will be an instant cast beefy heal over time called Riptide on a short cooldown. It also has a cool side effect of when you Chain Heal that target it will consume the HoT, and increase the healing done by that Chain Heal.”
“Riptide (Level 80 rank) – Heals a friendly target for 795-826 and another 150 over 15 sec. Your next Chain Heal cast on that primary target within 15 sec will consume the healing over time effect and increase the amount of the Chain Heal by 25%. 18% base mana. 6 second cooldown. (0.402 coefficient for those who know math)
Unfortunately, the uber looking cool visual and sound won’t be ready for a while after we ship =(”
For comparison, here’s Holy Shock. Paladin’s Holy 31 pointer.
“Holy Shock Rank 7
18% of base mana 20 yd range
Instant cast 6 sec cooldown
Blasts the target with Holy energy, causing 1296 to 1402 Holy damage to an enemy, or 2401 to 2599 healing to an ally.”
HA HA HA OH WOW.
So my guild disbanded a few days ago. I decided not to blog about it until I was ready.
Not sure I am yet, but what the hell. Leave it for too long and i might just find myself not caring. So before that happens I’d like to go through some observations I’ve had from the perspective of an officer, a founder, a raider and eventually, a burnout.
Allow me to rebut myself.
A while back I asked the question: Why heal? The gist of it was that from my own experience healing was frustrating, unexciting and thankless. Having browsed the grass on the other side of the fence my deduction is, now.. y’know what? So’s everything else.
